Megan is an experienced NP providing a variety of private health care services. Patients can expect compassionate, collaborative, evidence-informed care. Megan has a special interest in the treatment of perimenopause and menopause, women's health issues, medical weight loss, and preventive care. Many services can be delivered 100% virtually and/or in-clinic at Elmira Chiropractic.

Not Feeling Like Yourself? Let's Change That!
Initial consult includes a comprehensive history, physical exam, and a review of current recommendations and evidence-informed resources. Blood work will be arranged, as indicated. Treatment may include hormonal and non-hormonal therapies. Treatment is informed and adjusted based on symptoms.
"I don't feel like myself" is one of the most common concerns reported by women during perimenopause and post-menopause. "Dealing with it" is not ok, especially when there are many safe, evidence-informed treatments that can improve the physical and emotional symptoms that can accompany this time in a woman's life.
Perimenopause occurs in the years before menopause. For some women, this transition can last for 10 years (or more)! Natural menopause occurs when a women has gone 12 consecutive months with no menstrual bleeding. The average age of menopause in Canada is 51. When the transition starts, you may notice menstrual cycle irregularities, weight gain, hot flashes, issues with sleep, mood change, and vaginal dryness (just to name a few). In addition to causing symptoms, the overall decline in estrogen during this time increases risk of cardiovascular disease, metabolic disease and bone loss.

This is a comprehensive weight loss program delivered over a 6 month period, with the option for longer-term support. The program can be delivered virtually, a hybrid of virtual/in-person, or in-person. The InBody Medical Body Composition Analysis is a key component of the program, allowing for precise tracking of health improvements over time.
Overweight/obesity is a complex chronic and progressive disease. It is now understood that weight is significantly influenced by genetics and internal mechanisms that are beyond our control. Unfortunately, diet and exercise alone does not result in sustained weight loss for many; hence, >40% of adults are living with overweight/obesity. Our goal is to improve health and well being using a comprehensive and supportive approach, including behaviour, nutrition, and exercise counseling. These products are different brands of a type of medication called neuromodulators. They are used for both medical and cosmetic purposes. Cosmetically, very small amounts of neuromodulator are injected into specific muscles, causing relaxation. Latisse® Eyelash Serum | $140 + HST

This prescription product is used as a lash serum - it’s believed to prolong the active eyelash growth phase. It’s clinically proven to deliver lashes that are fuller, longer, and darker. Latisse® is available for purchase in clinic.
The Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) does not fund Nurse Practitioners who practice independently, and therefore, there is an out-of-pocket cost - similar to Physiotherapists, Dieticians, and other health care providers working outside of specific positions that are funded by the Ministry of Health.
For patients with a health card, all diagnostic testing arranged by the NP is covered, the same as if it was arranged through a Family Doctor or walk-in-clinic. This includes tests such as paps, blood work and imaging.
Patients with private health benefits or a Health Care Spending Account may be eligible for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to inquire.

Medical Consult (20 min.) | $100
Includes a review of your medical history, physical exam, and your primary health concern.
Medical Consult / Follow-up (15 min.) | $75
For returning patients with one minor health concern, or follow-up on a previously discussed issue.
